During 2012, facilities in Wales managed a total of 7.95 million tonnes of waste. At the end of 2012 there were:
- 34.5 million Cubic metres of available landfill capacity with 80% of this available at commercial non-hazardous sites
- Approx. 10 years of landfill life left at sites for non-hazardous wastes in Wales, at 2012 input rates
During 2012, over 274,000 tonnes of hazardous waste was produced in Wales, generated from over 9,000 businesses and industry, with over 324,000 tonnes deposited in Wales.
