Protected Areas Committee (PrAC)
The main Board has delegated its statutory responsibilities in relation to objections to the notification and de-notification of Sites of Special Scientific Interest to the Protected Areas Committee. The Committee will also support the Executive and full Board by providing advice on wider protected area issues and strategic casework; and provide a focal point for Board discussions on matters relating to protected areas including their role in mainstreaming the ecosystem approach.
Adam Taylor is the Chair of PrAC
Finance Committee (FC)
FC is a standing committee of the Board. Its principal role is to advise the Board and to support the Accounting Officer on financial management reporting, business planning and performance reporting, charge scheme and commercial matters.
Helen Pittaway is the Chair of FC
Evidence Advisory Committee (EAC)
This Advisory Group, although not a standing committee of the main board, is responsible for providing independent advice, challenge and review for NRW evidence activities. The Committee provides advice to the Board and to NRW more widely on the acquisition, quality, interpretation and use of evidence, particularly in areas of controversy or complexity.
Rhys Jones is the Chair of EAC
Strategic Delivery Committee (SDC)
The Strategic Delivery Committee (SDC) supports the Board by providing focused, outcome led scrutiny of delivery against NRW’s Wellbeing Objectives. The Committee’s role is to provide strategic assurance and challenge to the Board on whether the Executive is delivering the right priorities and creating the conditions necessary to achieve the Corporate Plan, within the Board’s approved risk appetite.
Dr Pete Fox and Professor Calvin Jones are joint Chairs of SDC
