This is a student work experience opportunity which is offered to help the student(s) to gain skills, knowledge and experience.
It allows the hosting team to share their knowledge and gain experience in working with young people whilst promoting NRW and the wider environmental sector.

Additional Information
What will you do
You will get to experience a range of ways that we help to reduce the risk of flooding. You will spend much of the week gaining experience in areas such as the inspection of flood defence structures, investigating reports of blockages to watercourses that could increase the risk of flooding and seeing maintenance works being carried on rivers in the area. You will also have the opportunity to view the computer software that we use to manage flood risk.
Who will you be working with
You’ll be working with a range of specialists in the Integrated Engineering and Integrated Workforce teams.
Where will you be working
You will spend much of your time out in the field particularly on local rivers such as the Severn and Vyrnwy. You will also spend part of your time with us in the office.
What other information is relevant to the placement
We would encourage students who are interested in the environment and engineering to apply. We would also encourage students with neurological differences such as dyspraxia, dyslexia, autism to apply.
