Natural Resources Wales Resilient Communities Grant programme
The Resilient Communities Grant Programme focuses on building resilient communities by increasing community participation in nature to increase health and wellbeing and resilience and will contribute to the current place-based resilient community related priorities identified in our Area Statements.
NRW received 210 applications, totalling over £20million, of which 21 were successful.
Martyn Evans, Head of South West Wales Operations, said:
“We are delighted by the quality of the applications received for the 2022 Resilient Communities Grant Funding. It is clear that the applicants are committed to meeting the challenges which impact on our health and wellbeing.
“We are proud to serve the people of Wales and to do all we can to champion our natural environment.
“Our grant giving function is very important us and to those that we fund, the grants support ‘on the ground’ projects that benefit the communities and the environment of Wales.
“These new grants priorities complement NRW’s Area Statement priorities and enable us to encourage new collaborative approaches to meet the challenges facing different areas of Wales.”
Applicants have been notified whether or not they have been successful in obtaining funding for their projects.
Martyn added:
“We understand there will be disappointed unsuccessful applicants who put in good applications.
“Competition for our funding is high and we received many more requests than we are able to support.
“Applications which are unsuccessful did not score highly enough compared to the other applications. Unfortunately, we are unable to provide specific feedback on every application.
“However, applicants are reminded that alternative sources of funding may be available.”
Successful projects will be posted on our website when awards have been confirmed.
