Accessibility statement: flood warnings and alerts and 5-day flood risk services
This accessibility statement applies to the following websites:
https://flood-warning.naturalresources.wales
https://5-day-flood-risk.naturalresources.wales
These websites are run by Natural Resources Wales (NRW). We want everyone to be able to access these websites. For example, that means you should be able to:
- Use a consistent navigation approach across both websites.
- Navigate the pages using just a keyboard and tab to all interactive elements of each page.
- Navigate the pages using a screen reader. Our testers have had high success with NVDA.
- Navigate the pages visible focus across the sites (excluding maps).
- Remove styling and navigate the site in a logical order.
- Access clear information – the websites use colour, bold and underline appropriately to make information distinguishable against existing copy.
- Text instructions are clear and simple to understand.
Recent fixes to improve accessibility
You should now be able to:
- Skip to the main content of a page when using a screen reader.

What we’re doing to improve accessibility
We expect some of these accessibility issues to be fixed by 23 September 2020 and we’ll continue working to fix outstanding non-accessible content.
Note: The HotJar plugin will not be fixed by this date as we are dependent on a vendor fix. However, the Link ‘Give Us Your Feedback’ is available at the bottom of our pages as a more accessible way to report issues experienced on the website.
We use a product called Hotjar to help us gather feedback from people about their experience of using our website. This is only accessible with a mouse click. If you are unable to use our ‘Feedback’ button, please use our ‘give us your feedback’ form to tell us about your experience.
We have asked the supplier to resolve the issues.
