Graduated Channel Fish Passage Improvements

What we're doing?

Natural Resources Wales gives notice that it proposes to carry out works to improve fish passage on the Ebbw Fach river at Blaina, NGR SO201066.

The proposed works will involve a Pool and Traverse across the channel width to enable passage upstream of the 4m wide, 150m long reinforced concrete channel and 4m wide, 40m long box culvert at this site.

Environmental impact

Natural Resources Wales considers that the improvement works are not likely to have significant effects on the environment and does not intend to prepare an environmental statement in respect of them. An Ecological Scoping Report and Water Framework Directive Preliminary Assessment have been produced.
