Rhymney Embankment Flood Risk Management Scheme (FRMS)
What we're doing?
Natural Resources Wales gives notice that it proposes to carry out improvement works to the flood defences on the River Rhymney in the Rhymney Bridge Industrial Estate, Cardiff between the Homebase site (NGR ST 21175 78411) and the London to Swansea Railway Bridge (NGR ST 21219 78286).
The proposed improvement works will involve installing a 148m length of sheet piled wall through the existing flood embankment, where the height of the pile wall will extend approximately 0.66m above current ground level.
Environmental impact
Natural Resources Wales considers that the improvement works are not likely to have significant effects on the environment and does not intend to prepare an environmental statement in respect of them. However, in line with good practice an Environmental Impact Assessment Record Sheet has been produced to assess potential environmental effects of the proposed improvement works. This can be obtained from the Project Manager that is specified at the bottom of this notice, on weekdays between 9am and 5pm.
Any person wishing to make representations in relation to the likely environmental effects of the proposed improvement works should do so, in writing, to the address specified below, within 28 days of the date of publication of this notice.
