Regulated facility type: Production of hydrogen by electrolysis of water - the Environmental Permitting (England and Wales) Regulations 2016, Schedule 1 installation, Part 1, Section 4.2 A(1)(a)(i) Producing inorganic chemicals such as gases (for example ammonia, hydrogen chloride, hydrogen fluoride, hydrogen cyanide, hydrogen sulphide, oxides of carbon, sulphur compounds, oxides of nitrogen, hydrogen, oxides of sulphur, phosgene). 

Regulated facility location: Bay Studios, Fabian Way, Swansea, SA1 8QB.

This is an application for an installation to produce hydrogen by electrolysis of water using polymer electrolyte membrane technology. The green hydrogen produced will be used as a fuel in the Operator’s fleet of hydrogen fuel cell vehicles. We are minded to grant the permit.  We will only grant a permit if we believe that significant pollution will not be caused and the operator has the ability to meet the conditions of the permit. Any permit we grant will include appropriate conditions to protect human health and the environment.
