Overview of process

The Cilgwyn Leachate Treatment Plant (LTP) is located at NGR SH 249941, 353632 on the slopes of a former slate quarry at the closed Cilgwyn landfill site in Gwynedd.

The purpose of the installation is to treat discharge waters (leachate), from the closed Cilgwyn Landfill. The leachate is non-hazardous and only leachate draining from Cilgwyn landfill will be treated at the LTP.
