It allows the hosting team to share their knowledge and gain experience in working with young people whilst promoting NRW and the wider environmental sector.

What will you do
- Site safety checks
- Litterpicking
- Wildlife monitoring
- Greet and give out H&S/site info to visitors
- Sell goods via the till in the VC
- Restocking
- Cleaning
- Staff the gate and take payments for the car park
- Assist groups/any visitors who require help
Who will you be working with
Hannah (VC Officer) and Andrea, Roger, Helen and Katja (VC staff). Potentially Justin (land manager) for a day or two.

What other information is relevant to the placement
Ynyslas is a very exposed location, it gets HOT in the summer months and there is very little shade. We work outdoors in all but the most extreme weathers, but ensure that staff get adequate breaks each day. We also undertake light manual work such as litterpicking (sometimes heavy items wash up on the beach and we need to bring them back to the centre to safely dispose of them), sweeping/shovelling sand off steps, moving tables and chairs and cutting vegetation back.
You will need sturdy boots/shoes, sun hat, sun cream, appropriate clothes for working outdoors, packed lunch and water bottle.

If your application is successful, you will be required to complete a Placement Agreement which sets out the responsibilities and expectations for the placement.
