Draenogan Tidal Door Refurbishment

Natural Resources Wales gives notice that it proposes to carry out improvement works to the flood defence structure on Afon Y Cyt in Talsarnau in the vicinity of Draenogan Mawr (NGR SH60315 35511). The proposed improvement works will involve the following: Replacing the existing tidal door structure with new tidal doors and new culvert extending approximately 12 metres through the Afon y Glyn and Afon Dwyryd Flood Defence Embankment Talsarnau.

Natural Resources Wales considers that the improvement works are not likely to have significant effects on the environment and does not intend to prepare an environmental statement in respect of them. 

An assent by the natural resources body for wales ("Natural Resources Wales’’) to carry out operations identified under section 28h of the wildlife and countryside act 1981, as amended, also habitat risk assessment related to the european designated site; can be viewed from 9 am until 5 pm at the local NRW Office, Government Buildings, Arran Road, Dolgellau, Gwynedd, LL40 1LW.

Any person wishing to make representations in relation to the likely environmental effects of the proposed improvement works should do so, in writing, to the address specified below, within 28 days of the date of publication of this notice.
