What are the opportunities to deliver nature-based solutions and adaptation at the coast, supporting Wales to have a coastline that is sustainable and resilient to climate change?

The loss of biodiversity is something we urgently need to reverse. This theme looks at what is needed at the local scale within Mid Wales to improve the resilience and quality of our ecosystems. Within this theme, we will explore how to better manage habitats to address the balance of biodiversity by improving how they connect. This will help us begin to address the nature emergency in Mid Wales.

This theme includes ensuring that we all work together to improve ecosystem resilience in the area. We need to reverse the decline, and act to enrich biodiversity. This theme links closely with Vital Nature, NRW's strategic steer for biodiversity.

The natural environment provides fantastic opportunities for well-being. Through the Area Statement, we are improving the way that our natural resources – and the benefits they afford us – are valued.

Creating opportunities to access and understand the value of the countryside so that communities can reconnect, understand, engage and influence the creative use of the local natural environment.
