DEE ESTUARY notice: A494 estuary bed Bathymetric Survey work

Mariners are advised that bathymetry survey operations will be conducted in the above red boundary area of the A494 bridge with the ALHS MCA CAT III VESSEL ‘COASTAL SENSOR.

The vessel during survey operations will be travelling at slow speed and restricted in its ability to manoeuvre. Mariners are advised to pass at minimum speed, giving the survey as wide a berth as is practical. The vessel is equipped with VHF and will be contactable on CH16.

Work is expected to commence Thursday 5 February 2026, and is anticipated to last approximately 2 hours, subject to weather, tides and technical issues.
